Picket Fence Art Studio is the working studio of Artist, Jamie Lightfoot. The studio is located on Hollywood Hill in Woodinville, WA, the heart of Washington Wine Country.

I have been painting for a long time but still consider myself a student as I love learning about my favorite medium, oil paint. I am also a lawyer by training, so my approach to painting has a logical slant that I think you will find easy to follow.

While my focus is mainly on beginners, I have tried to put together information that will be helpful at any level. I believe that learning to paint is a lifelong journey – it is what I love about it the most. I am constantly learning and trying to reach a new skill level. I also believe that the best way to learn is to do it. In my own art, I noticed that I progressed from learning the fundamental “hows” of painting to learning how to “create” a great piece of art using those methods. For me, this was a substantial pivoting moment.
